Water Quality Checks
The main tests needed regularly are Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate and pH which are all naturally occurring in your tank as part of the Nitrogen Cycle.
The number one killer of fish is ammonia. It forms the first part of your tank’s nitrogen cycle and comes from fish waste and uneaten food.
The second part of the nitrogen cycle is nitrites. They are the result of ammonia being broken down by the natural bacteria in your tank and are toxic to your fish.
Nitrates come from the break down of nitrites. If levels rise it can become toxic and stresses a tank’s inhabitants.
PH levels will vary depending on the type of fish you keep. Sudden changes in PH levels can be dangerous even fatal for your aquatic life.

Here at Glover’s Aquatics we understand that it’s not always easy to buy those big price purchases all in one go. That’s why we offer our Christmas Lay-by option. Starting in September, and with no large deposit , you can spread your payments either weekly or monthly allowing you to purchase those more expensive items. Once your final payment is made then the item is yours ready to take home for Christmas.
